LENOVO A526 unboxing

Sorry for the delay. im quite busy lately. As promise, here im gonna share the unboxing review. kinda like my first impression to this cheap and powerful Lenovo here.

So here is how the packaging look like. firstly i need to thanks the sponsor at Emart Batu Kawa for giving me the phone for testing. The phone price is RM100 but with a 1 year contract of DG SmartPlan 50. the monthly bill is at RM45 per month, free 100minutes and 100sms with a 2Gigabite mobile data plan. well i do the math and i find it a good deal indeed, postpaid internet are far more stable compare to prepaid line. One annoying thing is the seller doesnt mention the additional price that you have to pay. especially when registering with Digi postpaid. so you have to prepare at least RM200 for the phone and other additional charges such as the register fee, screen protector and the back case.

There are 3 more Digi prepaid package that offers cheap smartphone like the Lenovo A369i, Lenovo A7-30 and Acer Liquid Z208. i didnt have the chances to snap a picture of it but the most suspicious package is the Acer where i notice the indonesian flag on the box. weird huh? there's no information on it when i google it makes me wonder why?? Ok, lets get back to the unboxing.

As you can see on the picture, this is what you get inside the box. the phone itself, a charger with an USB cable and a 3.5mm jack earpiece. not forgeting the manuals. Well it does give you all that you need except there are no free SD, so remember to buy one. i would recommend to purchase  the screen protector only, the most essential thing to have when having a phone. always make sure the screen is protected. that if you prefer your phone naked.

The manual provided in the box doesnt really help you on how to use the phone. it just show you on how to use the basic thing only.

A few things that really caught my interest is the phone has a bigger and sharper screen compare to the other phones that digi's offer. its a MTK quad-core phone so it has the speed and the A526 also has a dual sim and dual standby ability. when getting a dual sim phone, one thing to really understand is how the dual sim works. a few are dual-sim but single standby, so thats mean you have to change the setting or reboot the phone if you want to change the sims. but his phone can have both the sim ready to make calls and receive sms without the need to resetting or reboot.

So here is the size comparation with my old LG Optimus Black. the A526 body and screen is noticeable look bigger from the LG.

Now, lets go the A526 itself, let me talk about it and i let you judge if this phone suits your need or not. The phone screen sizes is 4.5inch. considering a 4inches screen used to be a big screen on the old days yeah it does feel good on the hand. The plastic built doesnt feel cheap at all. from where i see it the front glass is not thick at all, so i dont think it can hold great impact incase it falls. so try to be really careful not to let it fall down.

On the top part of the screen holds the ear speaker and the VGA front camera. the front cam is a fixed 0.2 camera. not really good for selfies. the view coverage is very narrow i guess it maybe because it utilize technologies from the old days.i'll be posting the picture quality on the second part of the review.

on the lower part holds the capacitive touch button for home, option and back button. a common button for any android devices. the mic for calling is under the back button. you can also see a place to open up the back cover of the phone.

You can locate the micro usb port for charging and data tranfer on top of the phone. next to it is the 3.5mm port.

on the right side reside the volume button and ON/OFF button that also act as a sleep button.

While on the left side doesnt have any fisical button.

On the back side is the 5Mp camera and the holes for the loud speaker.

Taking of the back cover reveals the dual-sim slot and the MicroSD slot. The battery is a Lithium Polymer Battery. There's no way to take out the SD without taking out the battery. so tranfering data would take a moment if you choose to use a SD adapter to tranfer file.

The phone offers cool features as it come with Android JellyBean. it can run a lot of up to date application and doesn't lag at all except for heating that is common with android devices. For the next part of the review, i'll talk on how the device performs on my daily usage. i have been testing it for more than a week now and im quite happy with it. it doesn slow me down.

Next  post i'll be sharing how the phone performs for normal or heavy used.
