installing busybox and verifying Root installation

What is Busybox?

"Busybox is a tool pack that brings additional handy LINUX / UNIX based commands. We need to install this app as some of these commands are needed for certain root level tasks."

that's what you get when you ask the Developers at the XDA Forum.

Installing busybox in Xperia X8 is not hard at all. You dont have to be a techgeek to do so, But the main thing is to get the phone ROOTED first. To get your phone rooted, pls follow my post before this. Then, Busybox is the Second thing you have to get, to let your phone do additional task that i cant do before. You must have Busybox installed Before proceeding to other mod on your Xperia X8.

To install BUSYBOX,

1st, Open Android Market, type on the search box Busybox. Get the BusyBox Installer by Stericsson.

2nd, after installing, open the app and tap on Install on the bottom of the app (make sure to give the Super User permission to get the app operating). Tap on the latest version of Busybox. Dont worry about the warning when you open up the application. our phone are compatible with the busybox version.

If you have a .sh file of busybox in your SD card, make sure its the latest version so that the installer would detect the busybox. If you does not have it. just tap on installed, wait till it finish downloading and installed the busybox.

then you are done.

as and extra percaution, i recommended you to install ROOT CHECKER apps. this is to verify you installed the apps correctly...
